Keep that conference enthusiasm going by making time for 'TSPRA tasks'
It’s only been a month since our annual TSPRA conference and I’m still feeling the positive effects of the power-packed event!
Upon returning home, I had the opportunity to speak with Linda Hall from Pleasanton ISD. She said, “I’m slowly coming down from the 'high' of the TSPRA conference!”
I thought about what she said and readily agreed. It wasn’t until later that I realized the true impact of her statement. I too had felt that “high.”
Those four days at the TSPRA conference were AMAZING!
The opportunity to garner new skills and ideas while earning recognition and kudos for the things that you are doing well via presentations, roundtable discussions, the Star Awards Celebration or simple networking and conversations with colleagues. TSPRA packs a powerful punch!
We return from these meetings filled with enthusiasm and a fresh perspective. After a week or two back in our home offices, we might find ourselves searching for that “high,” that positive reinforcement that TSPRA provides.
Keep the enthusiasm alive. Call a colleague. Send an encouraging email or thank you note. Request guidance from a neighboring district about an issue you’re facing. Reach out to a new member, just to check-in to see how they are doing. Go to the TSPRA Facebook page and make a comment or follow TSPRA on Twitter and make use of the upgraded online membership directory to connect with colleagues.
Try to make time for one of these TSPRA tasks in your schedule each week. You’ll reap the benefits of the TSPRA conference all year long.
