The problem with people believing everything they hear is that they rarely hear everything.
What if more people knew that Texas public schools have one of the best graduation rates in the nation? Or that most of our graduates are college or career ready?
What if more people knew Texas public schools produce some of the country’s best academic outcomes? And that our educators accomplish it with less money than most other states?
More people need to know, and as educators we have to make sure that they learn what there is to celebrate about our Texas public schools.
If you’re following TSPRA on Twitter, you might have noticed we've been posting some factual vignettes tagged with #WeChoosePublic. These are part of the months-long Celebrate Texas Public Schools campaign, and we are asking that you share them with your own Twitter, Facebook or Instagram followers between now and Feb. 26, the start of Texas Public Schools Week.
It’s easy––we’ve done all the work and research––and there’s something extra in it for TSPRA members who participate in our campaign: a nifty thermal bottle that keeps the hot hot and the cold cold. (You’ll be the envy of your district!)
All you have to do is retweet the TSPRA #WeChoosePublic messages. Show a screenshot of your tweet(s) to the 2018 conference registration desk, and that’s it. Click here to download the CTPS logo and social media calendar.
To help us bolster the campaign, we’re also asking that you share some of your local success stories on social media with the #WeChoosePublic tag and logo. While you’re at it, please click the ‘like’ button on our official Celebrate Texas Public Schools Facebook page and share your stories and videos with the rest of us.
What if more people learned that much of what they’ve heard about Texas public schools is just part of the story? Let’s teach them why We Choose Public.
