Lynne Wester - The Donor Relations Guru

lynne westerLynne Wester strongly believes that donor relations is the key to unlocking fundraising success and that organizations must be as dedicated to the donor experience, or DX, as they are to the ask itself. Sometimes referred to as the Olivia Pope of fundraising, Lynne helps organizations when they need it most -- when crisis or opportunity arrive. 

Lynne and her teammates at the Donor Relations Guru Group partner with nonprofits large and small on a variety of initiatives from developing sound strategy and vision to utilizing technology and creating meaningful donor engagement - all designed to positively affect the fundraising bottom line. Her guidance has led her clients to be recognized on the nation stage for fundraising innovation, creative communication, and groundbreaking donor relations work. 

The DRF website is a unique industry tool filled with resources, samples and thoughtl eadership on donor relations and fundraising. Lynne is regularly featured in publications such as the washington Post, Chronicle of Philanthropy, and Case Currents and has authored three books of her own on a myriad of industry topics. 

Lynne received her B.A. from the University of South Carolina, holds a Masters in Strategic Fundraising and Philanthropy from BayPath University, and proudly sports a DUCKtorate from the Disney Institute.

We recommend booking rooms early, because the block can fill up fast, but please only book as many as you know you're going to need. 

Information about overflow hotels will be posted here once it's available. 

Here are a couple of things to know about the Embassy Suites Frisco Hotel and Convention Center:

  • Cut-off date is February 4, 2018, or until block is full.
  • The block room rate is $145 for a single or a double and $165 for a triple or a quad.  Since the original block sold out on some nights, we've added additional rooms from the premium suites at a rate of $175. These can be accessed through the same link above. 
  • Complimentary self parking (valet parking is $16/night).
  • Every hotel room is a two-room suite.
  • Complimentary in-room internet.
  • Reservation includes complimentary made-to-order breakfast each morning, manager’s reception each evening.
  • Tax-exempt certificate must be presented at check-in.
  • Check in time is 3 p.m. and check out time is noon.
  • Three or more room reservations made in the same name will require first night deposit at time of reservation. 
  • Cancellations must occur no less than 72 hours prior to check-in without penalty of paying first night. 

OVERFLOW HOTEL INFORMATION

 

TSPRA has secured an overflow block of 40 rooms at the Hyatt House Frisco across the parkway from the Embassy Suites and Convention Center where the conference is being held. Rates are $145 per night. Check in is 3 p.m. and checkout is 12 noon. The cutoff date for these rooms is January 27, 2018.

Best Practices For Community Engagement On Your District Website

Using data and inslights from a study of 200 public-sector websites in 2017, the presenters will share new research and more effective ways to reach parents, students, and educational partners in your district through your website and social media platforms. The session will also focus on new trends and policies to help you build excellent digital connections to the communities you serve.

Basics Of School Website Accessibility And OCR

In this workshop, Jim Allan, Accessibility Coordinator at the Texas School for the Blind and Visually Impaired, will review the scope of accessibility for school websites, provide an overview of web accessibility standards, review the most common web accessibility errors with examples, go over both free and not-so-free testing tools, provide resources for testing, education, consultation and repair services and do a live review of a website.
