♦ Media/Crisis Communications Training
Whether it’s dealing with the news media in an informational sit-down interview, or interacting with them in a crisis setting, our Media Interview Strategies seminar will prepare participants for any type of media encounter.

This full-day training centers around three principles: Preparation, Pitfalls, and Powerful Messages.  Through a sharing of ideas, multiple on-camera interviews, and a review of past examples of education-related public domain clips, participants will walk away with the skills needed to have a successful experience whether it’s promoting a new initiative or putting a compassionate face on the district after an incident with off-campus impact or injuries. Fifteen participants will get “on-camera” experience during this workshop.

To book a training session, contact the TSPRA State Office via email or by calling (512) 474-9107 with the dates and type of training you had in mind.

♦ Handling an Angry Public Training

Being able to communicate effectively is critical, especially in front of an audience who might be angry or skeptical. Our Handling an Angry Public Training helps participants learn to address sensitive information and respond to concerns about information that might be highly sensitive or emotional.

This half-day session offers participant techniques to reduce anger while dealing with individuals who are upset with your district. Through multiple on-camera interactions, participants will learn how to effectively respond when confronted with angry parents or citizens. This session will give participants the competence and confidence needed to deal with encounters from verbally abusive, aggressive and angry individuals.

The training will provide participants with several opportunities to “practice” their delivery. These simulations will be videotaped and critiqued as a group in order to provide maximized learning opportunities.

Training must be booked as two half-day sessions on the same day.

♦ Powerful Presentations Training

Whether it’s an audience of 5 or 5,000, delivering a presentation in front of a group can be a daunting task for even the most confident of presenters. Our Powerful Presentations Training helps everyone from the first-time presenter to the seasoned professional, sharpen their skills for that make-or-break presentation that just can’t afford to fall flat.

Topics such as the effective use of Power Point, delivery skills, messaging and storytelling are all covered in this full-day session. Participants will leave with a better understanding of what it takes to both craft and deliver a presentation that is sure to have the audience knowing the intended message.
